The Mount Vernon News, an independently-owned local newspaper, is in search of a full-time sports editor with vision to expand coverage of athletics in Knox County. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to take our sports department into a multi-media platform for more storytelling capabilities and to reach a larger audience. Sports writing, editing and supervisory experience are required. Photography, videography and page layout are a plus. This is a salaried position with oversight of part-time sports writers. Hours are dependent on sports schedule and include nights, weekends and mandatory planning meetings.
