National Sales Channel Manager

The National Sales Channel Manager drives sales efforts across all Advance Local Media newspaper markets to achieve channel Consumer Revenue and volume goals, ensuring positive ROI for consumer offers by focusing on contribution positive price points and terms that maximize non-Core churn. This position serves as the primary liaison with external sales vendors, tracking and affecting vendor performance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Associate’s degree or combination of education and related marketing or sales experience Minimum of two years’ sales and/or marketing experience Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure the accountability of others Ability to work with highly confidential information Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office products – specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint Newspaper subscription sales experience Ability to manage sales campaigns and associated expense to budget Experience with industry regulatory, compliance and legal issues Ability to interpret data and make recommendations based on analytical findings Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as part of a remote team Vendor management experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties listed are intended as examples only and may not represent a complete list. Recommends, develops and implements cost effective local sales campaigns designed to achieve circulation, readership and revenue goals within assigned sales channel. Responsible to meet or exceed assigned channel revenue goals. Develops and optimizes campaign effectiveness through analysis of sales performance results. Acts as primary liaison with external sales vendors, working closely with vendors to monitor weekly production activity by channel to sales expectations, addressing production issues and holding vendors accountable to managing to expense budget goals based on contract requirements. Tracks vendor performance standards and provides input to senior leadership on continuation of vendor agreements. Researches and recommends new vendor relationships. Works with Consumer Revenue, Circulation Operations, and other Advance Local Media departments to meet/exceed sales goals, increase targeted market share and enhance customer satisfaction. Communicates with others within Circulation to ensure all local market sales programs are meeting business objectives. Assists with development of annual channel sales plans with supporting budgets/forecasts. Position may be located in Cleveland Ohio or Birmingham Alabama.
