All sports, all the time: We need a sports editor ready to blaze a trail across digital and print platforms covering the exploits of student athletes in all sports programming for 12 primary area high schools, and additional coverage for seven other high schools in our broader circulation area. In addition, you must develop and manage coverage for a Midwest league baseball and soccer sports park that attracts teams from across three states. Must already be highly proficient in social media skills to engage readers in powerful ways and be ready to expand those skills to new levels to attract record digital traffic and more print distribution in the daily paper and special sections. Prior supervisory experience and a successful track record teaching good practice and maximizing productivity and efficiency is required to manage a staff of two reporters and a group of stringers. Must also be proficient in photography and videography skills and able to step in front of the camera.
