Staff Accountant AIM Media is looking for an experienced, hands-on Staff Accountant to work in partnership with the leadership team. Reporting to the CFO, this results-oriented team member will assist the CFO with daily data entry and the month-end closing process. Will also be responsible for preparing and posting recurring monthly journal entries and reconciling all bank statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities include: • Balancing daily cash sheet to sub-systems and bank deposits. • Preparing expense accruals for monthly financials as needed (outside printing, outside services, utilities, etc.) • Reconciling accounts payable vendor statements. • Initiating online monthly payments for fuel vendors and utilities and audit transaction detail reports and updating, maintaining and monitoring monthly utility checklist to ensure timely payment of utilities. • Researching and resolving vendor and management inquiries. • Updating and maintaining W-9 and direct deposit forms for vendors and independent contractors. • Assisting with A/R customer account reconciliation to ensure proper posting of AR payments received. • Maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers. Requirements: • Accounting degree and 2-3 years accounting experience in multiple company/division environment • Ability to work independently with minor supervision, together with ability to communicate remotely with immediate supervisor • Advanced MS Excel and intermediate MS Word knowledge and experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret numbers and how they affect the operation. • Ability to work well under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization as well as vendors and customers. • Ability to grasp conceptual ideas, then translate and/or implement them into practice.
The successful candidate will have a solid accounting (GL, budgeting, financial statement prep, AR/AP) background, and strong analytical and organization skills. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and KwikTags software is beneficial, but not required.
